Ryan Whitehead and the NS360 team took to the slopes of Whistler to shoot the TELUS World Ski & Snowboard Festival, capturing massive aerials and tricks in the Nintendo Terrain Park. The Big Air contest had riders hucking hard, while the Slush Cup sent the crowds cheering.
The 10-day event, held every April, features not only the best spring skiing and riding on the planet, but also pro competitions, free concerts, a dog parade, family activities and film and photography exposes. This 360 adventure lets you live the experience with the 15,000 people there.
To showcase the event in the most realistic way possible, NS360 created an interactive, 360-degree video of the festival’s best music, arts, sports and culture. They shot the video with their own custom-built, snow-friendly rig, resulting in a smooth, seamless festival experience.
We upped the interactive ante by releasing the video in three perspectives. Viewers can either choose to watch a flat, unwrapped version on YouTube, a standard 360 version, or a Little Planet Mode perspective, where the riders look like they’re launching off one side of the planet and landing on the other.
