Statistically, the internet has become the number one method used by consumers to source travel destinations and tourism products. Already an expert in virtual tours using still photography, this new video technique was conceived by northStudio360 in 2010 and the vision remained strong but challenged by the existing capabilities of the web. northStudio360 broke through the barrier, taking strides into the future with a user-interactive program that enables the browser to explore a destination as if they were there. Teaming up with Nimmo Bay, one of North America’s top heli-adventure destinations, set in a stunning west coast setting, the 360 degree technology provides an experiential visit from the comfort of one’s couch. As a program that will also be able to delve into educational applications through ‘transportation’ of the viewer into the location to increase awareness, the full extent of its use is yet to be realized. Basically, 360 degree technology engages the visual sense in a heightened and mesmerizing way as it ‘transports’ the user to the ‘scene’. The viewer is the director.
Available to the public beginning January 12, visit Nimmo Bay’s website at www.nimmobay.com to experience the technology first hand. northStudio360 can provide additional demonstrations at www.northstudio360.com.
